Success Recruit are working with a growing and well-established construction business who are currently looking to recruit a Purchasing / Supplier Assistant to join their dynamic team based in Essex.
The successful Purchasing / Supplier Assistant will be keen to support in a fast pace, proactive position where no two days are the same. It would suit a job seeker who has an interest within obtaining a career within purchasing / procurement long term and that can demonstrate an eagerness to learn or someone that has previously worked in a busy position processing orders and supporting with general administration & customer service within the supply chain.
The successful Purchasing / Supplier Assistant will be expected to:
* Have 2+ years of experience within manufacturing / production / warehouse environments to support within order processing and purchasing or a desire to enter this sector
* Demonstrate an ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
* Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite to include excel / data analysing

Purpose of the role:
The successful Purchasing / Supplier Assistant will play a critical role supporting the Head of Finance & Procurement ensuring the day-to-day ownership of order processing is achieved to a high standard and timely procurement is met to meet deadlines.
This is an exciting opportunity for somebody who wants to develop in an operational position within a busy environment that has an interest to increase efficiency as well as supporting with the day-to-day admin activities to ensure this department runs smoothly.
Duties will include:
* Raise and process purchase orders with suppliers, managing stock requirements and customer needs
* Track outstanding orders and follow up with suppliers
* Liaise with sales team to confirm product availability and lead times
* Assist with urgent orders and ensure turnaround times are achieved
* Set up new stock codes and maintain accurate product data
* Maintain accurate documentation and records on orders, including reports and customer interactions
* Ensure all new clients receive a high level of service
* Help drive improvements in operational processes and internal communication
* Supporting with workflow, reviewing staff & orders picked and ensuring busier times are accounted for in advance to support business
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am – 4.30pm ( some flexibility can be offered to start and finish earlier or later )
Salary: £28k - £32k dependant on experience
