An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a well-established and fast-growing accountancy practice as a Semi Senior Accountant / Bookkeeper. This role offers a dynamic, supportive environment with excellent career progression and full study support for the right candidate.
  
We are seeking candidates with some ACCA exemptions via AAT or a relevant accountancy degree, who have at least 6–12 months of relevant experience in bookkeeping or accounts preparation for limited company clients, either in practice or a commercial setting.
  
Key Responsibilities:

Preparation of statutory year-end accounts for limited companies
Submission of VAT returns in line with HMRC regulations
Double-entry bookkeeping and maintaining client ledgers
Processing payroll and managing related submissions
Assisting with corporation tax computations
Supporting the delivery of management accounts
Acting as a client contact, managing queries, and ensuring deadlines are met
Liaising with HMRC and other external bodies as required Requirements:

ACCA part-qualified, AAT qualified, or holding ACCA exemptions from a degree or AAT
6–12 months of relevant experience (bookkeeping/accounts preparation), ideally within in a similar role in practice
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, and year-end processes
Experience preparing corporation tax calculations
Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or similar You will be offered a supportive and progressive environment where you will gain all round accountancy knowledge and the ability to qualify.
