A nationally recognised builders' merchant is on the lookout for a commercially sharp Category Manager to lead one of its most important product areas. This role offers real autonomy and impact, with full responsibility for strategy, supplier performance, and category growth.
What you'll do:
Define and deliver the commercial strategy for a major product category
Manage pricing, promotions, and supplier negotiations to drive results
Use market insight and data to optimise ranges, stock, and margins
Own the full category P&L, collaborating with cross-functional teams
Balance customer needs with commercial priorities in a fast-paced trade environment
What you'll need:
Experience in category or buying roles - ideally within trade, retail, or distribution
Strong commercial judgement and negotiation skills
Confidence managing large SKU counts and supplier relationships
A proactive mindset and passion for delivering commercial success
