SEN Teaching Assistant (SEMH)

Teach Now is looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN teaching assistant (SEMH) to join a warm and inclusive primary school in Enfield this September.

The role
You will work closely with children in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, providing both 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs. Your role will involve helping students build emotional resilience, manage behaviour positively, and engage confidently with learning.
Key responsibilities
• Support the emotional and behavioural development of pupils with SEMH
• Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and outside professionals
• Deliver targeted interventions tailored to individual needs
• Foster a safe, inclusive and encouraging learning environment
• Monitor and report progress to teaching staff and parents
Ideal candidate
• Experience supporting children with SEMH, autism, ADHD, or behavioural challenges
• Calm, patient and nurturing demeanour
• Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils
• A proactive team player with a passion for inclusive education
• Strong communication skills and resilience in a dynamic classroom environment
