Construction Assistant - Rail Infrastructure - Oxford

Contract: 6 months | Location: Oxford | Rate: £380/day (Inside IR35 via Umbrella)

A major rail infrastructure project in Oxford is seeking an experienced Construction Assistant to support site-based assurance on a high-profile enhancement programme. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that all construction activities are executed safely, to a high standard, and in compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and procedures.

Project Scope:
Oxford Phase 2 includes civils, signalling, telecoms, track and E&P works, plus new platforms, bridges, and station entrances. Now at ES6 construction phase.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor contractor activities for safety, quality, and compliance
Check Sentinel competencies and method statements
Ensure communications with lineside residents
Maintain site records, report defects, raise/close NCRs
Support ITPs, testing, and undertake CoSS/Site Warden duties

Requirements:

Civils experience in a rail environment
Valid PTS
Knowledge of NR standards and SHW
