Teaching Assistant Level 2 – 1:1 Support

Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday (School Hours)

Contract: Long-term, with the potential to become permanent

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join a warm and supportive primary school in Accrington. This role involves providing 1:1 support for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), helping them to access learning, develop independence and thrive within the classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide consistent 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs, following individual EHCP targets
Assist with implementing personalised learning strategies and interventions
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt activities and resources
Support with emotional regulation, behaviour management and communication
Encourage positive relationships, participation and confidence
Maintain accurate notes and contribute to progress reviews where required
Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

TA Level 2 qualification (or equivalent)
Experience supporting children with SEND (Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech & Language, etc.)
A calm, patient and proactive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for helping children succeed
Good understanding of safeguarding and behaviour support strategies

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
