APT Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school near Forestdale, Birmingham, to recruit a committed and resilient KS2 Behaviour Support Assistant for a January start. This is a full-time, temporary ongoing role, supporting pupils in Key Stage 2 with a range of behavioural needs including ADHD, Autism (ASC), Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), and other complex profiles.
The school has a strong family ethos and a collaborative staff team who work together to ensure every child feels safe, supported, and empowered to succeed.
? Role Overview:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to KS2 pupils with behavioural and emotional needs
* Implement personalised behaviour strategies and regulation techniques
* Support pupils who may display physically or verbally challenging behaviours
* Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals to deliver EHCPs and support plans
* Foster resilience, independence, and positive learning behaviours
✅ Ideal Candidate:
* Experience supporting children with behavioural needs in KS2 or similar age group
* Understanding of ADHD, ASC, PDA, and trauma-informed approaches
* Calm, confident, and compassionate approach to behaviour management
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
