Senior Java Developer - Public Sector

Our client, a UK Government Department , offers an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Java Developer in Leeds or Manchester in a hybrid working setting. Known for one of the largest digital programmes in the UK, promoting an inclusive digital culture that fosters innovation.

About the Role

Contract Length:12 Months
Location: Manchester / Leeds (60% Hybrid)
Pay Rate: £(Apply online only) /day ( Inside IR35)
Security Clearance: BPSS but candidates must be eligible for SC Clearance
Key Skills Required

Recent experience with Java 21 (or later)
Strong understanding of TDD and BDD
Experience with large microservice architectures
Agile environment experience
Involved in pair programming and API implementation
Skilled in building robust automated test suites
Proficiency with Unix-like operating systems
Knowledge in tools and techniques for web developmentDesirable Experience

Jackson, JAX-RS, Mockito, ActiveMQ or Kafka
MongoDB or other document databases
High-traffic website scaling
