Aspire People are currently recruiting for a qualified Behaviour Mentor with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) to join a specialist SEND school in Baskerville, Birmingham. This is a full-time role supporting pupils with complex needs, including ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), behavioural challenges, and SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs.

This role combines behaviour mentoring with classroom delivery during PPA (Planning, Preparation and Assessment) cover, making it ideal for a confident and authoritative educator who can manage behaviour while maintaining a nurturing and structured learning environment.

The Role:

Support students with complex behavioural and emotional needs on a 1:1 and small group basis.

Work closely with pupils with ASD, SEMH, and other additional needs.

Provide high-quality classroom teaching during PPA cover using engaging, inclusive strategies.

Implement effective behaviour support techniques and de-escalation strategies.

Foster a safe, consistent and structured environment that promotes learning and emotional regulation.

Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to support pupil development.

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential

Experience working with challenging behaviour, ASD, and complex needs

An authoritative and confident presence in the classroom

Ability to set clear boundaries while maintaining a positive rapport with pupils

Experience delivering PPA cover is desirable

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
