Location: Coventry/Nottingham involving frequent nationwide travel as required.

Salary: £51,620-£65,907 + Company Car/allowance.

We are looking for a Governance Advisor to join our Safety, Assurance, Governance and Environment (SAGE) team as part of the wider Asset Optimisation and Governance team, supporting the EIS Operations business. You will support, facilitate and deliver compliance, governance and assurance activities and requirements associated with maintenance of Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and Asset, Management systems and standards.

Key responsibilities

Support the operational business in identifying compliance requirements associated with their activities and evaluating, achieving and maintaining compliance with the same.
Support the development and implementation of a comprehensive compliance strategy, conducting gap analyses where required to identify and prioritise areas for improvement.
Collaborate with operational stakeholders to embed a culture of compliance through development of clear, documented policies and procedures.
Review and update of policies and procedures to ensure alignment with regulatory and industry standard changes.
Lead and support in planning, development, coordination and delivery of an integrated audit plan for the operational business.
Coordinate and manage the external audit programme and renewal of external certifications and memberships including ISO 9001/14001/45001/55001 etc.
Identification, development, implementation and management of compliance tools and systems.
Develop, deliver and monitor compliance reports that track compliance performance and identify emerging trends and issues.
Analyse audit data and non-conformities to proactively identify areas for process improvement and cost reduction.
Actively support broader EIS activities and initiatives to contribute to a robust and integrated compliance, governance and assurance framework across the organisation. Profile:

What we need from you

NEBOSH certificate and significant experience working within a SHEQ compliance/governance role.
Strong understanding and practical experience with ISO Management System Standards (e.g. 9001, 45001), including auditing and internal auditor qualification (achieved or in progress).
Solid knowledge of SHEQ-related legislation, policies, and procedures, enabling competent and effective advice.
Proficient in project planning, self-management, and meeting deadlines.
Strong analytical, numerical, and report-writing skills with the ability to interpret and present data clearly.
Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills; confident and diplomatic in approach.
Proficient in using Office and Governance IT systems, with the adaptability to work with system changes. It would be great if you had

Lead auditor qualification in relevant standard (9001, 14001, 45001)
Working towards or achieved Environmental Management qualification or IEMA foundation.
Knowledge and experience of ISO27001 management systems.
