Salary: £89 - £105 per day (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Hull. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who want to help students with additional needs thrive within a supportive learning environment. Whether you are an experienced practitioner or looking to begin your journey in education, we want to hear from you.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will support students with a range of special educational needs—including Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and learning disabilities. Working closely with class teachers and SENCOs, you will contribute to personalised learning plans and help students engage confidently with the curriculum.
SEN TA Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual students with SEND
Assist in implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Encourage students’ participation, independence, and social interaction
Support classroom routines while promoting a calm and inclusive learning environment
Use a range of communication strategies to engage pupils with varying needs
Support with sensory regulation and behaviour management as needed
Collaborate with teaching staff and external professionals to deliver consistent care
Adapt resources and teaching methods to suit individual learning styles
Monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents
Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and child welfare
Requirements for Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant:
Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs as a SEN Teaching Assistant or similar
CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification in Teaching Assistance or Childcare (desirable but not essential)
A degree in Psychology, SEND, Counselling or a similar field.
A patient, caring, and resilient attitude
Ability to follow individual support strategies and adapt to dynamic classroom needs
Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach
Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or willingness to apply for one
