Associate Director Civil Engineering
Our client is a well-established multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy, seeking an experienced  Team Leader to lead project delivery and team performance within its civil engineering division. This role involves a mix of technical leadership, project management, financial oversight, and team development across infrastructure and development projects.
Key Responsibilities:
·Lead and manage a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring project delivery aligns with time and budget targets.
·Act as the main point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders on assigned projects.
·Oversee preparation of business plans and monthly sales forecasts in collaboration with regional leadership.
·Manage monthly invoicing and monitor team financial performance to meet targets.
·Conduct staff performance reviews and regular one-to-one meetings to support professional development.
·Ensure technical excellence through regular project reviews and value engineering.
·Support expert witness work when required.
·Maintain strong communication and collaboration with wider project teams including architects, M&E engineers, and clients.
·Stay informed of updates to relevant legislation, design codes, and best practices.
·Ensure compliance with company quality, safety, and environmental procedures (including CDM Regulations 2015).
·Produce and review technical documentation including planning reports, flood risk assessments, and utility strategies.
·Mentor junior staff and contribute to ongoing CPD activities.
Key Skills and Experience:
·Degree or HNC in a relevant engineering discipline.
·10+ years of experience in infrastructure or civil engineering roles.
·Chartered or Incorporated status (ICE, CIWEM, IStructE, CIOB) preferred.
·Strong project and team management skills.
·Excellent understanding of AutoCAD and relevant design software.
·Practical knowledge of infrastructure legislation, design standards, and codes of practice.
·Financial awareness and ability to monitor project budgets and performance.
·Confident communicator with a client-focused mindset.
·Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
