Teaching Personnel are seeking a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a child in Year 2 with Autism (ASC). This rewarding position begins immediately after the Easter half term and offers the chance to provide vital support within a warm, supportive primary school environment.
The Role
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
Provide tailored support to a Year 2 pupil with autism, helping them engage with learning and regulate their emotions.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individualised strategies and interventions.
Support the child in developing communication, social and independence skills.
Assist with both academic tasks and daily routines, ensuring the pupil feels safe, supported and ready to learn.
Contribute to a positive, nurturing learning environment where every child can thrive.
Ideal Candidate
We would love to hear from you if you:
Have experience working with children with Autism or other additional needs.
Are patient, emotionally resilient and able to build warm, trusting relationships.
Can adapt your approach to meet individual needs.
Are consistent, reliable, and confident supporting behaviour and sensory needs.
Have a passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
Hold (or are willing to obtain) an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service.
