An exciting opportunity is available for a creative and motivated Design & Technology ECT to join a well-resourced and forward-thinking school in Gloucester. This permanent, full-time position begins in September 2025 and offers an excellent foundation for a career in teaching.

Key responsibilities for the Design & Technology ECT will include:

Teaching Design & Technology to Key Stages 3 and 4 with the support of your mentor

*

Helping students develop technical skills, creativity, and resilience

*

Contributing to coursework planning and resource development

*

Maintaining a safe and well-organised workshop/classroom space

*

Participating in whole-school CPD and ECT training sessions

*

Supporting extra-curricular DT clubs or school-based projects

*

Taking an active role in department meetings and curriculum enrichment

*

Promoting the importance of sustainability and design ethics

The ideal Design & Technology ECT will:

Hold a relevant DT degree and be on track for QTS by July 2025

*

Be enthusiastic about product design, resistant materials, or systems & control

*

Have excellent communication and practical teaching skills

*

Be eager to learn and grow in a high-support teaching environment
