Cover Supervisor

About the role
Are you passionate about education and confident in leading a classroom? Teach Now is recruiting an enthusiastic and reliable cover supervisor to support schools in Hertfordshire on a part-time, temporary basis, starting ASAP. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on classroom experience — ideal for aspiring teachers, recent graduates, or experienced school support staff.

Key responsibilities
• Supervising pre-set lessons and ensuring pupils remain focused and on task
• Distributing learning resources and supporting students in understanding the work set
• Managing classroom behaviour and applying school policies to promote a productive environment
• Responding to student questions and ensuring clarity where needed
• Collecting and returning completed work to the appropriate departments
• Handling any immediate issues or emergencies in line with school procedures

What we’re looking for
• Previous experience in a school setting (preferably secondary)
• A confident and calm classroom presence
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification is desirable
• Ability to work flexibly and adapt to a range of subjects and year groups
