HSQE Assurance Advisor – Maternity Cover

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and proactive HSQE Assurance Advisor to join our team, based in our Head Office in Carlisle - there has never been a better time to join!

The Role

As our HSQE Assurance Auditor, you’ll support the delivery of our internal assurance schedule, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards, as well as key industry accreditations such as RISQS, UVDB, and Network Rail. You’ll play a vital role in keeping our Business Management System current, effective, and aligned with our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

* Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.

* Identify and track non-conformances, drive corrective actions, and promote continuous improvement.

* Maintain and update the Business Management System to reflect current operations.

* Support external audits and accreditation processes (e.g., RISQS, Network Rail Licence, UVDB).

* Collaborate across departments to embed assurance practices and update procedures.

Manage HSQE documentation and monitor legislative changes impacting compliance.

* The Ideal Candidate:

* A recognised qualification in health & safety, environmental, or quality management.

* Proven experience in internal auditing and knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001.

* Familiarity with industry standards such as RISQS, UVDB, and Network Rail.

* Strong report writing and analytical skills.

* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

* Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.

* Full UK driving licence
