Position Machine Operator
We are recruiting on behalf of a Leading UK Manufacturer of display packaging, due to their continued growth and development they are seeking to employ a Machine Operative for their Walsoken, Wisbech site to start asap.
Ongoing contract potentially leading to permanent for the right candidate.
Reporting directly to the Operations Supervisor and Site manager, the Machine Operator is responsible for the efficient production of quality finished product delivered through the operation of all relevant equipment within the manufacturing area.
Monday – Friday: 05:50 – 13:55 – 20min break – 7.75 hrs per day potentially the hours may change to 05:50 – 14:30 – 40 minutes break – 8 hrs per day.
Overtime may be available.
Pay rate £13 per hr

Specific departmental responsibilities and accountabilities include:
Health & safety – adherence to all Group policies, procedures & SSoW.
Quality & service delivery – delivering a quality product on time and in full.
Crew management, training, and development.
Planned and preventative operator maintenance – delivering long term reliability from capital equipment.
The production of quality finished product delivered through the efficient operation of all relevant equipment.
Machine efficiency.
Working environment tidiness.

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities
The Machine Operator is responsible and accountable for:
Where appropriate crew management, training and development;
Machine specific efficient product manufacture working to OTIF principles;
Quality product manufacture following the Technical Drawings and Right First Time methodology.
Health, safety and environmental ownership on your nominated equipment.
Operating in line with the Group Safe Systems of Work;
Quality control – first off and in process checks;
Cleanliness of equipment and work area;
Collection of shop floor data through the use of SPOCs or manual timesheets;
Maintaining own professional standards of appearance, discipline and work ethic;
Completion of all paperwork; check sheets and other records relevant to your areas and responsibility;
Cross training of other employees;
Willingness to be trained in other operational areas
Continuous improvement;
Task orientated ensuring completion of all assigned tasks diligently and in a timely fashion.
Waste reduction in terms of process, consumables, and board.
Working closely with the Production Supervisor to ensure daily adherence to the production plan.
Ownership of safety & quality checks including clean as you go on your nominated equipment.
Working with colleagues and agency workers in a professional and courteous manner.
Other duties within your ability and as requested by your line manager or a Director of the business;
Desirable for the role:
Operation of Solarco boxmatic -large, Solarco boxmatic – small, Rapidex stitcher.
Ability to read and understand Technical/CAD Drawings and follow them accurately
Continuous improvement of manufacturing processes
