The plant has a capacity to generate 299 MW of energy, enough to power 600,000 homes, equivalent to nearly all households in the Teesside area. To appoint a Commercial Manager on a permanent basis.

Role Overview:
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for pellet (and future chip) fuel supply and scheduling for the plant. Electricity dispatch hedging, REGO sales. Advise on electricity market regulation and compliance requirements. Supervision of sustainability / compliance related reporting for the plant. Ad-hoc and analytical support to other commercial activities at TeesREP.
Duties are but not limited to:
Fuel Supply and scheduling
Management of annual fuel supply delivery schedule, forward cargo planning.
Liaise and coordinate with pellet supplier for deliveries under the fuel supply agreement terms, support application of additional cargo options during the year.
Arrange relevant contracts for delivery of any other fuel (pellet or chip) with other suppliers as may be required including on-sale of any fuel as may be required.
Manage supply related contracts including Shipping Agent, Stevedoring, Vessel Inspection, Fuel Sampling and Analysis to ensure fuel is purchased and delivered in line with all contracts and requirements.
Coordinate ship with Plant operator who are responsible for fuel silo management.
Dispatch / Hedging
Manage power dispatch under PPA, N2Ex, system sales and REGO transactions.
Manage declarations to PPA provider and manage communications to support dispatch, hedging, self-billing, etc.
Manage PPA settlement data collection on a daily and monthly basis to ensure payments are correct and timely. Provide data to PPA provider and maintain required contracts (e.g. CVA system) to do so.
Manage CfD settlement and reconciliation process, liaising with EMRS and LCCC to ensure TeesREP continues to receive correct payment in a timely fashion.
Develop future potential Bid-Offer process (when appropriate National Grid testing has been completed and plant commences operation within Balancing Mechanism) as plant is dispatched.
Develop future potential plant dispatch under any National Grid ancillary agreements (MSA, Frequency Response, Provision of MVArH’s etc).
Monitor and assess electricity market pricing and forecasts, including REGOs.
Reporting
Produce daily, monthly pellet fuel inventory (silo) from Operator data. Provide forward ad-hoc analysis on inventory levels and cargo deliveries.
Produce daily, monthly dispatch and pricing reporting, including actuals, forecast, market pricing and estimates of Strike Price and BMRP pricing.
Oversight and support future development of sustainability and environmental reporting for the business.
Regulation & Compliance
Act as TeesREP owner for Quorum IT system (EDT/EDL), liaise with plant operator on any related issues.
Maintain TeesREP REGO position including compliance with Ofgem agreed Monitoring & Reporting Plan, data collection, claiming of REGO’s and sale and transfer, through Ofgem Registry account.
Ensure all electricity market compliance reporting is complete and submitted on time and in line with obligations. (CfD, LCCC, EMRS, CHPQA etc).
Support stakeholder management with relevant market bodies (Energy UK, REA, etc) to ensure that business is aware of relevant developments of market regulation, incentive schemes.
Monitor for changes to energy related rules as they apply to the TeesREP business.
Business Development
Support TeesREP business development opportunities as these arise.
To be considered for the role you will have:
Demonstrable experience in related energy area/business.
Experience in trading, compliance, reporting and structuring preferred.
Energy market, hedging and energy compliance knowledge.
Ability to apply commercial skills to support business needs
