Job Title: Quantity Surveyor (Subcontractor Side)

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to take full ownership of the commercial process from estimating through to final account?
Hard Hat Recruitment is working on behalf of a respected subcontractor currently seeking a confident and capable Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team.

This role is ideal for a QS with a strong background on the subcontractor side who is comfortable working across multiple packages and stages of construction projects. You’ll be responsible not just for estimating, but for managing the job through its lifecycle – maintaining cost control, liaising with clients, managing applications, and overseeing contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

Take-off and produce accurate estimates for new projects

*

Monitor and manage project costs throughout the build process

*

Prepare and submit interim and final applications for payment

*

Negotiate and manage contracts and subcontracts

*

Liaise with site teams, suppliers, and clients to ensure commercial success

*

Manage variations and valuations

*

Contribute to project meetings and reports

Requirements:

*

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor for a subcontractor (essential)

*

Proficient in estimating and cost planning

*

Strong knowledge of contracts, applications, and valuations

*

Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously

*

Excellent communication and negotiation skills

*

Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
