Role Summary

They’re looking for a proactive and organised Transport Planner to join their busy team. Reporting directly to the Transport Manager, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of our operations — handling customer enquiries, securing new work, preparing quotes, planning vehicle and driver schedules, and ensuring everything runs smoothly and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

* Respond promptly to customer enquiries via phone and email, providing accurate and competitive pricing

* Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with customers — people buy from people

* Plan and allocate jobs efficiently using available vehicle and driver resources

* Monitor ongoing jobs and support drivers throughout the day

* Ensure jobs are completed on time and meet customer expectations

* Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and drivers

* Stay calm and focused in a fast-moving environment

* Maintain high standards of organisation, accuracy, and follow-through

Essential Skills & Qualities

* Strong numeracy and commercial awareness — confident with pricing and cost control

* Methodical and detail-oriented, with a problem-solving mindset

* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

* Highly organised and able to prioritise effectively under pressure

* A genuine team player with excellent interpersonal skills

* Comfortable in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment

* Positive, enthusiastic, and customer-focused

Benefits:

* Competitive salary: £35,000–£45,000, depending on experience

* Full-time, Monday to Friday (10-hour day shifts)
