Student Welfare Officer in Winchester
Are you passionate about supporting the well-being and welfare of young people in an educational setting? We are delighted to represent a wonderful School in Winchester that is seeking a dedicated Student Welfare Officer to join their team. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on student's lives and contribute to their overall well-being.
Position: Student Welfare Officer
Start Date: July 2024 (Maternity cover contract)
Rate: £11.98ph (FTE £23,115pa)
Contract Type: Term-time only, Full-time, flexibility in working hours can be provided
Location: Winchester, Hampshire
Role Responsibilities:

Administer first aid and manage medications as required to ensure the health and safety of students.
Assess and provide support to students who report feeling unwell or have had accidents.
Send daily absence texts to parents to keep them informed.
Collaborate closely with the Pastoral Support Team, parents, carers, and the school nursing team.
Offer guidance and support to children with long-term health conditions.
Support colleagues in creating fully inclusive timetables, including extracurricular activities.
Organise immunisations, including Flu, HPV, and boosters, in coordination with the school nursing team.
Ensure effective communication with all stakeholders and manage on-site appointments.
Requirements:

Previous school experience and specialist qualifications are not essential.
Key qualities include empathy, resilience, initiative, dedication to students, and a good sense of humour.
Training and guidance will be provided.
First Aid Certificate preferred (training could be provided for the right candidate)
