Job Title: Mechanical Integrity Engineer - Structural Systems Design

Working Pattern:

Full time Working location: Bristol/Hybrid

Join our world-class Structural Systems Design team where you'll be at the forefront of engine development, bringing together mechanical sub-systems into optimised full engine systems. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge analytical tools including Whole Engine Mechanical Models (WEMM) and complex finite element analysis to define engine behaviour at product system level. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring our designs are robust, meet requirements and apply Design for Process Excellence principles across our iconic aerospace engines.

What you will be doing

With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to:
Conduct advanced structural mechanical design and analysis using sophisticated tools ranging from hand calculations to complex design space exploration and optimisationLead and support mechanical experiments including test rig specifications, supervision of testing, and correlation of engine test data with analytical predictionsDevelop and apply Whole Engine Mechanical Models (WEMM) to analyse static, dynamic (rotordynamics, vibration, balancing) and extreme event behaviour at product system levelDrive continuous improvement of tools, methods and processes while delivering against programme milestones within agreed cost, timescale and quality requirements

To be successful in this role you will need to:
Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience) with strong technical knowledge in mechanical design methodologies and cross-discipline engineering conceptsDemonstrate ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking to technical problems and make balanced decisions across technical and business parametersHave knowledge and experience of product integrity/liability and certification frameworksPossess excellent communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organisationShow membership of a relevant professional body (Chartered status preferred in the UK) and commitment to continuous professional development
