They are seeking a proactive Quality Engineer who is comfortable traveling within the UK and Europe (25-40% of the time), and experienced in navigating quality management systems (QMS), supplier approvals, and product specifications.

New Product Introduction (NPI)
Support Product teams in developing and launching new products
Assist with the introduction and/or transfer of new equipment at manufacturing partner sites
Define and implement QA/QC requirements ahead of product launch
Qualify materials and processes to enable mass production (MP)
Ensure processes are ready for high-volume manufacturing before full-scale production
Manage the integration of new materials and processes into existing production lines
Supplier Quality
Lead supplier audits to ensure compliance and capability
Collaborate with Supply Chain to manage and maintain the Approved Supplier List (ASL)
Partner with suppliers to improve quality systems and business processes
Product Quality
Monitor and report on product performance in the field
Investigate and resolve quality and reliability issues proactively
Track and report key quality and production metrics
Serve as the technical point of contact for B2B partners regarding product issues
Business Management Systems
Operate within existing quality management frameworks
Review and enhance current QMS processes to support continuous improvement
Cost Management
Track and report expected product costs during the NPI phase
Identify cost-saving opportunities within current product lines
Work with Supply Chain to source alternative materials and suppliers
Calculate cost reduction impacts and support related initiatives
Oversee and manage cost-reduction programs
Profile
We're looking for a proactive, passionate, and self-driven individual who's not afraid to get hands-on and work independently when needed. You should be a subject matter expert in your field, with a clear vision of best practices and the ability to implement them effectively. Adaptability is key-this is a fast-paced start-up environment where priorities can shift quickly.
A relevant degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent work experience is essential
Experience in the FMCG manufacturing sector (Food, Beverage, Cosmetic, Personal Care, Nutraceutical)
Broad technical expertise across new product introduction (NPI) and quality functions
ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification preferred or audit shadowing experience
Experience with high-volume converting lines and low-cost products
Familiarity with films, nonwovens, and related converting processes and equipment is a strong advantage
Background in cost management is desirable
Must have UK drivers licence and vehicle
