Position: Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias)
Location: South Manchester
Pay: £32.00 - £35.00 per hour (DOE)
Hours: Day Shift – Monday to Friday (40 hrs/week)
Contract Type: Outside IR35 – Limited Company Contractors Welcome
Overtime: Available
We are seeking a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong mechanical bias to join a thriving manufacturing/engineering site in South Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled contractor who is looking for a long-term day-shift role with great earning potential.
The Role:
* Carry out mechanical and basic electrical maintenance, breakdowns, and fault-finding.
* Preventative maintenance across a variety of production machinery.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives.
* Work closely with the engineering team to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven experience as a multiskilled engineer with strong mechanical skills.
* Manufacturing or industrial background (FMCG, engineering, automotive, etc.).
* Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
* Immediate or short-notice availability preferred.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent).
* Experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, or packaging machinery.
* Knowledge of basic electrical systems (advantageous but not essential).
