EDM/Spark Erosion Technician (Weekday Night Shift)

Salary: £41,366 per annum inclusive of shift allowance
Hours: 21:15-07:00 - Monday - Thursday
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled EDM/Spark Erosion Technician to support the manufacture of high-quality transmission components for motorsport and aerospace applications. This role involves working in a small, dedicated team, applying a right-first-time approach to precision engineering.
As an EDM/Spark Erosion Technician, you will perform Wire EDM and Spark Erosion operations using Swiss-built EDM Charmilles equipment, including the Charmilles Form 200 Sparker, ensuring components meet the highest standards of accuracy, safety, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out Wire EDM/Spark Erosion operations on precision components.
Interpret technical drawings and planning route cards to produce parts to specification.
Manufacture aerospace and motorsport components in line with approved data.
Program EDM machines offline using RoboCam or similar (training can be provided).
Ensure all work is delivered on time, to quality, and to required tolerances.
Contribute to problem solving, continuous improvement, and best practice across the workshop.
Support other manufacturing areas when required.
Work additional hours when necessary to meet critical deadlines.
Key Competencies & Experience
Proven experience with Wire EDM and Spark Erosion processes.
Skilled in operating numerically controlled EDM machines.
Competency in offline programming (RoboCam or similar software).
Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Proactive, innovative, and team-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
Flexibility to adapt and support broader manufacturing activities.
