Teaching Assistant - SEMH Support
Location: LE8, Leicestershire
Pay: £90-£105 per day
Contract: Full-time, Long-term to permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Start Date: Immediate (ASAP start required)
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
We are working in partnership with a supportive, Ofsted-rated 'Good' school in the LE8 area of Leicestershire. The school caters for pupils aged 4-16 with SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) needs and is looking for a dedicated, patient, and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their team.
About the Role:
You'll be a vital part of a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, working closely with teachers and support staff to help students regulate their emotions, build resilience, and positively engage with their education.
Key Duties:
Deliver 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual SEMH needs.
Apply consistent, positive behaviour support strategies.
Help create a calm, safe, and structured classroom environment.
Encourage personal growth, emotional regulation, and essential life skills.
Build trusting relationships that help reduce barriers to learning.Who We're Looking For:
Prior experience working with children with SEMH and/or SEN is essential.
A calm, empathetic, and adaptable approach to support young people.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
A strong team player who is committed to inclusive education.Please Note:
Applicants must have an Enhanced DBS Certificate either issued within the last 12 months or registered on the Update Service.
