Job Advert: Minute Taker – Children’s Social Care (Temporary)
Location: Magdalen House, Bootle (with potential travel across the Sefton Borough)
Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Until September 2025 (with the possibility of extension)
Sefton Council’s Children’s Social Care department is seeking a skilled and experienced Minute Taker to join our Business Support Service on a full-time temporary basis.
You will play a vital role in supporting our Strategy Meetings and other formal meetings by taking accurate, clear, and concise minutes. This is a key position requiring confidentiality, attention to detail, and the ability to remain composed and professional in a pressurised environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Attending and accurately minuting Strategy Meetings and other relevant meetings.
Preparing and distributing minutes within set timeframes.
Performing a variety of administrative duties including:
Typing formal correspondence
Filing, post duties, and record collation
Reception cover and telephone support
Liaising with internal and external professionals
Supporting other Business Support team members and covering during absence.About You: We’re looking for a committed team player with:
Proven clerical and administrative experience.
Excellent minute-taking and word processing skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and general office systems.
Strong organisational and time management abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.Experience in minute taking in a formal setting and knowledge of child protection or social care environments is highly desirable.
Additional Information: The post is based at Magdalen House in Bootle, however, you may be required to work from other locations across Sefton due to operational needs.
