SEMH Teaching Assistant - Great Yarmouth, Norfolk!

Position Details:

Location: Great Yarmouth, Norfolk

Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Salary: £dependent on experience

Contract: Temp to Perm, Term-Time Only

Key Responsibilities as a SEMH Teaching Assistant:

Provide tailored support for students with SEMH needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning.

Assist in delivering creative and engaging lessons, ensuring every pupil feels included and supported.

Implement behaviour strategies and promote positive interactions.

Work 1:1 and in small groups to support students with additional challenges such as dyslexia and ADHD.

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and professionals to develop personalised support plans.

Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour.

SEMH Teaching Assistant Skills & Requirements:

A passion for working with children with SEMH needs and additional challenges such as Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), ADHD and dyslexia.

Resilience, patience, and a positive outlook.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

The ability to remain calm and think creatively when faced with challenging behaviour.

A good sense of humour and the ability to make learning fun!

Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.

Ability to commute to Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.
