About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing site in North Scarle. This is a key role in keeping the production plant running smoothly, ensuring equipment reliability, and supporting all departments in achieving business KPIs.
You’ll be responsible for carrying out planned, predictive, and reactive maintenance, providing rapid support to production teams, and contributing to continuous improvement projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is apprentice trained or holds equivalent engineering qualifications and wants to develop their career in a supportive and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities

Carry out daily planned, predictive, and condition-based maintenance across the site to minimise downtime and improve efficiency of production line equipment.

Provide a rapid, motivated response to breakdowns and ensure effective cover for production teams.

Support all departments in meeting business KPIs and continuous improvement targets.
*
Work closely with the Engineering Supervisor to control labour, spares, raw materials, and consumables costs.
*
Assist with the management of external contractors during installation, servicing, or improvement works.
*
Build and maintain strong working relationships with production teams, providing technical support and minimising disruption.
*
Record accurate data on breakdowns, downtime, and safety incidents, updating the engineering log as required.
*
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and site standards, including carrying out pre-start safety checks and risk assessments.

Uphold high standards of hygiene, housekeeping, and workplace organisation in all engineering areas.
*
Contribute to training and mentoring of colleagues where needed, supporting team development.
*
Identify opportunities for plant and process improvements during maintenance or production checks.
Requirements
*
Apprentice trained or equivalent engineering qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3, HNC, City & Guilds).
*
Strong background in maintenance engineering within manufacturing or industrial environments.
*
Electrical experience preferred (mechanical skills also valued).
*
Good IT skills, able to use engineering software and record data accurately.
*
Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to minimising downtime.
*
Excellent communication skills and a team-focused attitude.
