We are seeking an experienced Windows 11 Deployment Engineer to join an NHS Trust in the Yorkshire and Humber region on an interim basis. This role forms a key part of the Windows 11 deployment team and will contribute to the smooth transition and upgrade of the Trust’s IT estate.
Role Summary:
You will provide on-site IT deployment and support services, ensuring devices are imaged, configured, upgraded, or replaced to meet Windows 11 compatibility. The Trust’s IT estate includes over 4,000 desktops, 3,000 laptops, and a broad range of wired/wireless peripherals and printers.
Key Responsibilities:
Image, deploy and configure new desktop and laptop devices across the Trust;
Upgrade or reimage existing hardware to Windows 11, ensuring compatibility and performance;
Replace or decommission unsupported devices in line with Trust asset disposal policies;
Diagnose and resolve hardware/software faults at the point of deployment to minimise disruption;
Prioritise workloads effectively to meet defined deployment KPIs and SLA targets;
Maintain accurate records of deployments and updates in IT service management systems;
Use and contribute to the IT knowledge base for resolving deployment issues and incidents;
Liaise with third-party suppliers and internal support teams for complex technical issues;
Ensure compliance with safety and security procedures in the handling of IT equipment;
Provide excellent customer service and support to end users throughout the deployment process.
Person Specification:
Minimum 18 months' experience in an IT support environment, ideally within the NHS or a similarly complex organisation;
Specialist knowledge of desktop/laptop hardware, printers, and associated peripherals within a server/client or workgroup environment;
Proven experience resolving IT queries within SLA timeframes and escalating when required;
Confident following scripted solutions for common tasks such as imaging, software installs, and device configuration;
Strong team player with effective communication skills and the ability to work independently when required.
