Job Title: Bridge Engineer

Location: Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh or Glasgow (Hybrid - 2 Days Remote, 3 Days Office-Based)

Rate: £40-£60 an hour (Depending on experience), Inside IR35
 
Working hours: 40 hours a week
 
Contract Type: 6-Month Contract (with Possibility of Extension), Inside IR35
 
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Bridge Engineer to join our infrastructure team in either Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh or Glasgow. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a range of bridge maintenance and refurbishment projects, ensuring the resilience and safety of key transport links across Scotland.
 
This is an initial 6-month contract, with strong potential for extension based on project needs and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
·Lead and manage bridge inspection, assessment, design, and maintenance projects.
·Prepare technical reports, specifications, and detailed design drawings.
·Provide engineering input and oversight during site works and maintenance operations.
·Engage with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery.
·Ensure adherence to current design standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance processes.
·Support and mentor junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative team culture.

Requirements:
·Significant experience in bridge engineering, particularly in maintenance and refurbishment.
·In-depth knowledge of UK bridge standards, inspection techniques, and structural design principles.
·Skilled in structural analysis software and engineering design tools.
·Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
·Comfortable working in a hybrid model (2 days from home, 3 days in the office).
