The Opportunity
We are looking for an inspiring and dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join our school for two critical terms. This role is perfect for a teacher who enjoys seeing the "lightbulb moments" that happen during the end of Key Stage 1 and wants to play a pivotal role in shaping a child's early academic journey.
You will lead your first class through the summer term-helping them celebrate their achievements and prepare for Year 3-before taking the reins of a fresh Year 2 cohort in September to build their foundations for the year ahead.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment & Achievement: Support current Year 2 pupils through their end-of-year assessments with a focus on a "low-stress, high-success" environment.
Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver creative, high-quality lessons in line with the KS1 National Curriculum.
Phonics Expertise: Utilise your knowledge of phonics (we use Little Wandle) to bridge gaps in reading and writing.
Transition Management: Lead a robust transition for the incoming Year 2s, ensuring they feel secure, happy, and ready to learn after the summer break.
What We Are Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Recent experience teaching in Key Stage 1 (Year 2 experience is highly advantageous).
A nurturing approach with high expectations for pupil behaviour and progress.
The ability to work collaboratively within a close-knit KS1 team.
