PERSONAL ASSISTANT/EVENTS COORDINATOR***
We're hiring for a super varied role with a local Town Council - 4 days a week (Mon-Fri, 28 hours).
As PA/Events Coordinator you'll be supporting the Town Mayor and their team with admin tasks, while also leading the planning and smooth running of on-site council events.
A perfect role for someone organised, proactive, and confident juggling both PA duties and event coordination.
Salary band £26,835 - £28,163 pro rata depending on experience
Key responsibilities for the PA/Events Coordinator include,
Provide administrative assistance including responding to invites, updating records & organising Mayoral visits/events
First point of contact for all enquiries
Organise all council ceremonial events and civic functions
Oversee relations with media on coverage of Mayoral and civic events
Actively participate in on-site event management ensuring smooth operations for attendees
Run engaging marketing/promotional campaigns via a multitude of Communication media to engage all areas of the community including social media and press releases.
Actively assist in the development of creative event concepts, themes and entertainment ideas
Liaise with vendors, suppliers and community stakeholders as required to ensure successful event partnerships
Management of elements of predetermined budgets for each event
Undertake any other duties appropriate to the post as requiredThe ideal PA/Events Coordinator will need the following,
Knowledge of how a council operates or a similar size commercial business operates
Have experience of managing a diary/calendar ensuring the Major and team are prepared for civic events
Solid experience in planning and running events from inception to completion essential
Exceptional organisational and administrative skills with a good eye for detail
Good written and oral communication and presentational & reporting skills using relevant IT programs
Have the ability to organise and prioritise your workload
An understanding of good public relations and how to raise the council's profile in the local community
Flexible and ability to respond quickly to situations
Ability to work in a confidential environment with a high level of discretionNote that this is a part-time 28 hours a week position which could suit someone with previous experience of working within a local government (or similar)position
