Job Title: Site Manager – £50M Commercial & Industrial Project
Location: South Tyneside
Contract Type: Freelance or Permanent
Start Date: Immediate / As Soon As Possible
Project Duration: Until Summer 2027

Job Description:
Our client, a well-established main contractor, is seeking an experienced Site Manager for a major £50 million commercial and industrial development based in South Tyneside. This is a long-term opportunity on a prestigious project running through to Summer 2027.

We are looking for a strong leader with a solid track record in delivering large-scale construction schemes, ideally with a background in both commercial and industrial builds.

Key Responsibilities:

Day-to-day site management, ensuring high standards of health & safety, quality, and productivity

*

Coordination and supervision of subcontractors and trades

*

Managing key construction packages including steel frame, groundworks, curtain walling, and cladding

*

Reporting to the Project Manager and attending site meetings

*

Ensuring works are completed in line with the construction programme

*

Maintaining site records and ensuring compliance with project documentation

Requirements:

*

Proven experience as a Site Manager on large commercial or industrial construction projects

*

Strong knowledge of steel frame construction, civils/groundworks, curtain walling, and cladding

*

SMSTS, CSCS (Black or Gold), and First Aid – mandatory

*

Strong communication and leadership skills

*

Previous experience working for a main contractor (Tier 1 or Tier 2 preferred)
