Due to continued growth Next Generation are recruiting for a Tool Maker to work with a well-established Tier one company based near Walsall. As the Tool Maker you will be responsible for providing planned maintenance on press tooling.

Shift pattern for the Toolmaker:

* Monday - Thursday (08:00am – 17:00pm)

* Friday (08:00pm – 13:00pm)

Duties of the Tool Maker:

* Reading engineering drawings to be able to confidently and competently manufacture press tooling components

* To conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet the specifications; make adjustments as necessary.

* Set up and operate conventional and CNC machines

* Be able to measure finished parts to specifications, using measuring instruments such as callipers, gauge blocks, micrometres, and dial indicators.

* Repair and maintain press tools, die repairs

* Attend breakdowns, identify fault and problem solve at the press with

* minimal downtime to aid production

* Ensure adequate stock levels are maintained

* Prepared to work a reasonable amount of overtime as and when required to meet business needs.

* Any other duties as reasonably required by the company

The successful candidate for the Tool Makers position will have the following experience:

* Apprentice trained (Desirable)

* 3 – 5 years experience as a Toolmaker (Essential)

* Ability to use XYZ machines (Essential)

* Ability to use EDM Wirer eroders (Desirable)

* Knowledge of ONECNC (Desirable)
