English Teacher - Maternity Cover
Location: Rossendale Area
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Full-time, Maternity Cover (until the end of the 2025/26 academic year, with the potential to continue into 2026/27)
Salary: In line with the Teachers' Pay Scale

Spencer Clarke Group are working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in the Rossendale area to appoint an English Teacher to join their team from January 2026.

This is a full-time maternity cover position running for the remainder of the academic year, with the potential to continue into the 2026/27 academic year.

As the English Teacher, you will:

Deliver engaging and well-planned lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

Plan, prepare and assess in line with departmental and school policies

Inspire students to achieve their potential in English

Contribute to the wider life of the school and department

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

Experience teaching English at secondary level

Strong classroom management skills

A commitment to supporting students' progress and development
