An independent specialist school on the outskirts of Horsham is looking to appoint a dedicated and dynamic Maths Teacher to join their growing team. This role offers a chance to shape the learning journey of students in a nurturing, well-resourced, and progressive setting.

About the Role:

As a key member of the teaching team, you will deliver an engaging and accessible Maths curriculum tailored to the diverse needs of learners in Key Stages 3 and 4. You will play a crucial part in creating an inclusive classroom environment where every student can thrive, regardless of their starting point.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

Designing and delivering high-quality, differentiated Maths lessons that are tailored to meet a wide range of SEN needs.

Adapting curriculum content to support students with Autism.

Using varied assessment strategies to track progress, provide feedback, and inform next steps in learning.

Creating a calm, safe, and stimulating classroom atmosphere that encourages student confidence and curiosity.

Working closely with a multidisciplinary team of therapists, TAs, and specialists to meet each student's individual needs.

Contributing to the creation and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

Promoting a love of Maths and engaging with wider school initiatives.

Maintaining accurate records and liaising with families and external professionals as needed.

Engaging in professional development and supporting the school's inclusive, aspirational ethos.

We're Looking For Someone Who:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

Has strong subject knowledge in Maths, ideally with experience teaching KS3 and KS4.

Brings experience or a deep interest in working with young people with SEN, particularly Autism.

Can confidently differentiate teaching strategies to support individual learning needs.

Is calm, resilient, and empathetic, with excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.

Communicates clearly and builds positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.

Is creative, reflective, and open to trying new approaches.

In Return, the School Offers:

A unique opportunity to help shape a growing school and its curriculum.

A supportive and friendly staff team passionate about SEN education.

Ongoing CPD and career development focused on SEN teaching.

A peaceful, therapeutic setting on the edge of the countryside.

A competitive salary aligned with your experience and qualifications.

If you're a committed and compassionate Maths teacher with a flair for inclusive teaching and a desire to make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.
