General Workshop Assistant

Starting Salary: From £12.50 per hour, depending on experienceWe are seeking a proactive and skilled General Workshop Assistant to join our team in a dynamic fabrication workshop. This role is ideal for someone with a foundational knowledge of metalworking and a keen interest in developing further skills in a hands-on environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

Assist main fabricators in preparing materials for welding, including using metal saws and drills.
Finish fabrications by spraying and fettling galvanized work, ensuring they are ready for delivery.
Receive full training to operate a Forklift Truck to unload steel delivery lorries on site.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment to support efficient operations and safety standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Some basic metalworking skills and familiarity with a fabrication workshop environment.
Experience with basic hand tools and power tools.
Full UK Driving License is essential.
Willingness to undergo training for Forklift Truck operation.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
Excellent communication skills and a strong awareness of health and safety practices.
