We are looking to appoint a teaching assistant who is highly motivated, innovative and who is interested in providing 1-1 support to pupils with additional needs.

The role is to support children with SEND, usually working on a 1-1 basis, assisting the children is accessing the learning that is set by the class teacher. 

The role is based in a school in the Huntingdon area of Cambridgeshire. It is a warm and supportive school where all staff are committed to the inclusion of all pupils.

The successful candidate will:

Be available to work on a full time basis
Ideally have access to a car
Be able to provide full DBS clearance
Be able to provide 2 recent references to support recent employment
Be committed to inclusion
Enjoy making learning a positive experience
Have some experience of adapting the curriculum and creating bespoke activities to meet an individual’s needs
Be highly organised and have excellent time management skills
Be able to work under the guidance of the class teacher and SENDCo but have the ability to use their own initiative to support individuals
Have excellent interpersonal skills that motivate and inspire children
Be highly motivated, have a positive attitude and be prepared to develop relationships with children who need consistency and clear boundaries from someone who really cares
Have some experience in supporting children with medical conditions within an educational setting

Salary

£89 to £100 per day

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

- Previous experience within Primary Schools or similar setting
Experience of working with children with additional needs
