Birmingham City Council is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Business Support Officer to join our SEND & Inclusion Service. This hybrid role is primarily home-based, offering flexibility while supporting a vital area of our work that makes a meaningful impact on children and young people across the city.
Your new role
As a Business Support Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of administrative operations. Your main responsibilities will include managing shared mailboxes, taking accurate minutes during meetings and workshops, and providing general administrative support such as photocopying and preparing materials for events. You will also be responsible for updating data across various case management systems, so a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages-particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook-would be highly advantageous.
What you'll need to succeed
We're looking for someone who is not only organised and efficient but also brings a proactive attitude and a genuine willingness to contribute to a collaborative team. Experience in administrative roles, especially within public services or education, would be beneficial, but above all, we value enthusiasm, reliability, and a commitment to inclusive service delivery.
What you'll get in return
3-month temporary contract with a potential of an extension. The rate of pay for this job is £14.12 per hour inlcusive of holiday pay.
