Are you a Psychology graduate looking to build hands-on experience in a school setting? A thriving, inclusive Secondary School in Perry Barr is offering a rewarding opportunity to work as a Teaching Assistant, supporting children across Key stage 3 in a mainstream setting.

This is an excellent platform for aspiring Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, or future SEN Teachers who want to deepen their understanding of developmental needs through real classroom experience.

About the Role:

Supporting high-needs students in Key Stages 3 and 4, many of whom have autism, social communication needs, or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges

Providing one-to-one and small group academic and emotional support in line with EHCP targets

Assisting with behaviour regulation strategies and delivering tailored interventions to promote engagement, resilience, and independence

Collaborating closely with class teachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams, and external therapists to support both academic progress and personal development

Contributing to progress tracking, daily routines, and the creation of a supportive and inclusive learning environment

What We're Looking For:

A recent graduate in Psychology, Education, Youth Work, or a related field

A genuine passion for working with young people with autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, or communication difficulties

Previous experience in education, youth work, or mentoring teenagers is desirable

Strong interpersonal skills, emotional resilience, and a calm, confident approach to managing behaviour

A commitment to long-term development and openness to learning from experienced school staff
