You will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies that align with the company’s long-term vision and goals. You will ensure the effective and sustainable procurement of materials goods to support customer satisfaction and drive profitable growth within the business.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement plans to achieve the clients purchasing strategy for the department
* Identify, evaluate and develop suppliers to meet the current and future needs of the business
* Identify areas of risk in the supply chain, effectively prioritise, develop and implement plans to mitigate such risks
* Manage supplier performance by way of recognising both positive and negative achievements and communicate effectively to promote the pursuit of excellence and best practice both internally and externally
* Continuously benchmark suppliers, analyse pricing trends and utilise cost models to defend against price increases, achieve price decreases and best value/total cost of ownership solutions
* Effective and timely project management and coordination of Supply Chain activities relating to NPD, Engineering changes and Cost Reduction to the point of production implementation
* Responsible for the deployment of procurement strategies, including leading all RFP activities and negotiations for nominated suppliers – both commercially and contractually
* To ensure that KPI targets are met, risk is understood and managed, and supplier performance meets or exceeds business needs.
* Implementing supplier performance and relationship management to ensure improved and sustained supplier performance
* Identify, plan and implement continuous improvement opportunities within the supply chain. Liaise cross functionally and across entities to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
* Ensure that the business secures the optimal supplier base to meet long term business needs.
Requirements:
* Business or engineering degree or equivalent
* Hold a CIPS or equivalent professional qualification
* Proven experience in manufacturing environment
* Knowledge of purchasing procedures and standards
* Knowledge of inventory and replenishment systems
* Previous negotiation skills experience
* Excellent IT and analytical skills
