General Labourer – Foundry

We’re seeking a motivated and reliable Foundry Operator / General Labourer to join our client’s growing team in Congleton.
This is an entry-level role with full training provided and a clear pathway for progression into senior furnace operative and plant operator positions.

About the Role
As a Foundry Operator, you’ll work within a busy aluminium foundry environment, supporting daily production by stacking and packaging aluminium ingots as they’re poured from the furnace.
This is a physically demanding role, so applicants must not be work-shy and should be comfortable in a fast-paced, warm environment.
Key Responsibilities of this General Labourer role:

Support production targets and maintain consistent output
Stack and package aluminium ingots safely and efficiently
Carry out pre-shift checks and ensure processes stay within safe operating limits
Identify and report any faults, safety issues, or equipment concerns
Keep accurate production and quality records
Maintain a clean, organised work area
Follow all company policies, systems, and safety procedures
Take part in ongoing training and developmentSkills & Qualities required for this General Labourer role:

Reliable and hard-working attitude – must not be work shy
Team player with a proactive approach
Experience in manufacturing, engineering, or recycling is advantageous
Experience with forklifts or loading shovels desirable

Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off – 12-hour shifts (2 days 6am–6pm, 2 nights 6pm–6am)

Salary: Starting at £26,500 – rising to £32,944 after training (inclusive of shift allowance), with potential to reach £38,244 after 2–3 years
