Full-Time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Secondary School in Totton, Hampshire!

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic full-time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a friendly and inclusive secondary school in Totton, Hampshire. This rewarding role offers a competitive annual salary between £22,500 to £23,500 (depending on experience) and is available to start ASAP or from September 2025, depending on the successful candidate’s availability.
Responsibilities of the Learning Support Assistant (LSA):
Collaborate closely with class teachers to support students in their day-to-day learning.
Lead small group interventions and provide one-to-one academic support.
Assist students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring their individual needs are met with care and consistency.
Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment across the school.
Support students’ academic progress and emotional wellbeing with patience and resilience.
Take part in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events as an active member of the school community.
Requirements of the Learning Support Assistant (LSA):
Experience working with children or young people in an educational or related setting (e.g., youth work, social work, pastoral care).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A resilient, adaptable, and compassionate approach to supporting students.
Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
