General Foreman – Civil Engineering

Location: North West
Salary: £50,000 – £56,000 + Company Vehicle & Excellent Package

A well-established national Tier 2 Civil Engineering Contractor is seeking an experienced General Foreman to join its North West division. The role will support the delivery of a varied portfolio of Civil Engineering projects across the region.

Brownfield Remediation

Deep Drainage & Utilities

Reinforced Concrete Foundations

Access Roads & External Works

*

Section 278 Highway Works

Role & Responsibilities:

*

Day-to-day management and supervision of site activities

*

Leading site teams including foremen, engineers, operatives, and subcontractors

*

Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to specification

*

Coordinating plant, materials, and labour requirements

*

Implementing and enforcing Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality standards

*

Working closely with Site Managers and Project Managers to drive productivity

*

Reviewing and implementing RAMS and method statements

*

Maintaining accurate site records, progress reports, and diaries

*

Liaising with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders where required

*

Ensuring compliance with Section 278 and highway authority requirements

Candidate Requirements:

*

Proven experience as a General Foreman on civil engineering projects

*

Strong background in earthworks, drainage, RC works, and highways

*

SMSTS or SSSTS (SMSTS preferred)

*

CSCS Gold or Black Card

*

First Aid at Work

*

Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills

*

Ability to work across multiple sites within the North West
