Job Purpose
We are seeking a skilled MIG/TIG Welder to join our fabrication team. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding a range of metal components using MIG and TIG processes to produce high-quality, structurally sound welds in line with engineering drawings and specifications. This role requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of welding techniques, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out MIG and TIG welding on a variety of materials, including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
Fabricate and assemble components according to engineering drawings and job specifications.
Ensure welds meet quality and dimensional standards, performing visual inspections and basic testing as required.
Set up and prepare welding equipment, including selecting appropriate consumables and machine settings.
Work to tight tolerances while maintaining a clean and tidy finish.
Interpret and follow technical drawings, work instructions, and welding symbols accurately.
Assist with general fabrication duties including cutting, grinding, and fitting.
Maintain welding equipment, identifying and reporting any faults or maintenance needs.
Follow company health & safety policies and procedures, using appropriate PPE at all times.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensuring good housekeeping practices.
Support continuous improvement and contribute ideas for improving processes and quality.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in MIG and TIG welding within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Experience with fabrication and fitting techniques
Strong knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and safety procedures.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
Skilled in the use of hand tools, grinders, and measuring equipment.
Experience in welding to coded standards (advantageous).

Qualifications
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Welding & Fabrication or equivalent (preferred).
Welding coding or certification (advantageous but not essential – training may be provided).
Forklift or overhead crane licence (desirable).
