A wonderful primary school located in Greenwich is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher to join their passionate team in September 2025. As a Year 5 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education and preparing students for the transition to Key Stage 3.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan, deliver, and evaluate dynamic and engaging lessons in Year 5, ensuring the curriculum is covered and adapted to meet the diverse needs of the students.

Monitor and assess pupil progress regularly, using a range of assessment tools to provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.

Create and maintain an inclusive and well-managed classroom environment that fosters student engagement, high standards of behaviour, and academic excellence.

Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and refine teaching practices, share resources, and ensure a consistent approach to curriculum delivery.
*
Build strong relationships with parents and carers, providing updates on student progress and encouraging their active involvement in their child’s learning journey.
*
Actively contribute to the wider school community by participating in extracurricular activities, school events, and professional development opportunities.
Person Specification:
*
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
*
Strong knowledge of the Year 5 curriculum and experience in delivering effective, engaging lessons.
*
Proven ability to assess and monitor student progress, using data to inform planning and ensure effective differentiation for all learners.
*
Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to create a positive and focused learning environment.
*
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
*
A commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for creating a learning environment where students can thrive.
