As a Solicitor in this department, you will be working on a caseload that focuses exclusively on clinical negligence matters. The Solicitor's role
The Solicitor will manage a caseload of claimant clinical negligence files, ranging from delayed diagnoses and surgical errors to birth injuries and fatal claims. You will handle matters from initial instruction through to settlement or trial, with support from experienced colleagues and access to leading medical experts and barristers.
The role involves close client contact and requires a Solicitor with a sensitive and confident approach, as well as the ability to build trust with individuals who have experienced trauma. Collaboration within the wider national team is encouraged, and you will be expected to share legal insights and contribute to best practices.
The Solicitor will ideally have:
Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales with ideally 2-5 years' PQE
Solid experience handling claimant clinical negligence matters
Excellent communication, drafting and client care skills
Comfortable managing a caseload independently while seeking support where appropriate
Membership of relevant organisations such as APIL or AvMA is an advantage
