Job title: Senior Supplier Operations Specialist

Location: Reading - Up to 3 days per week on site - depending on needs of the business
Hours of work: 40 hours per week
To provide expert support across supplier onboarding, governance, and operational processes within Supply Chain Management. The role will focus on managing supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with internal processes and public procurement regulations, and maintaining data accuracy in key business systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the onboarding process for new suppliers, ensuring alignment with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate supplier records and support ongoing due diligence activities.
- Collaborate with procurement teams and technical advisors to ensure correct documentation and question sets are used during supplier onboarding and contract activities.
- Act as a liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve queries and ensure smooth operational flow.
- Monitor and enhance onboarding workflows, suggesting improvements for increased efficiency.
- Maintain supplier data integrity in ERP/business systems (e.g. Oracle Fusion), ensuring system housekeeping is consistently upheld.
- Support system and process compliance, including adherence to PCR 2015 and PA 2023.
- Promote best practices in supply chain operations and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide accurate SCM reporting and maintain awareness of category structures.
- Assist in supplier evaluations, system implementations, and fielding procurement-related queries.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong knowledge of supply chain processes and public procurement regulations.
- Previous experience managing supplier operations, ideally within nuclear, defence, or similarly regulated sectors.
- Proven stakeholder management skills with the ability to liaise confidently across departments.
- Familiarity with SaaS-based procurement systems (e.g. JAGGAER, Ariba, or similar).
- Experience using ERP systems such as Oracle.
- Ability to work within task-dependent environments, where progress may rely on external responses.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to adapt in a dynamic setting.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative working style.
Desirable Experience:
- Background in nuclear or defence environments.
- Experience with CEMAR or similar contract management tools.
- Exposure to end-to-end tendering and system implementations, particularly within finance.
