Job Title:  Behaviour Support Assistant

Location:  Ryecroft School, Walsall, West Midlands WS2 7BH

Salary:      £22,300.00 per annum (not pro rata)

Hours:      40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 4.00pm

Contract:  Permanent, Term Time Only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Behaviour Support Assistant to join our close-knit team at Ryecroft School, part of Options Autism.

About the role

As Behaviour Support Assistant you will be required to support the Positive Behaviour Lead and wider Inclusion Team to establish effective strategies in all areas of positive behaviour support and pastoral care. Some of your responsibilities would be as follows:

To monitor incidents on Sleuth to identify student behaviours causing concern

To monitor behaviour, emotional and social issues within all year groups and make positive interventions when necessary

To drive ClassDojo reward/motivation strategies in every class

To contribute to pupil celebration events and schemes e.g. reward trips, Jack Petchy nominations, Student Council and Student Leadership opportunities

Who we are looking for

We need someone with the ability to work independently and as part of a team and having effective communication skills (verbal and written). You should also have the ability to mediate, negotiate and problem solve and be able to accurately record information.

All candidates must have Maths and English GCSE grade 4 or above / functional skills Level 2 and experience of pastoral and behaviour roles in schools

Our New Options School - Ryecroft School has capacity for 60 pupils, opened in September 2024 and caters for pupils with Autism and complex needs.

The school is located in Walsall. Walsall is a market town in the West Midlands County. It is located 9 miles north-west of Birmingham, 7 miles east of Wolverhampton and 9 miles from Lichfield.

For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties. As part of Outcomes First Group, we are leading our sector in setting and delivering new approaches that provide measurable outcomes for those in our care.
